No, I’m not a creep, I swear… It’s just that my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting up with Tess Holliday, her amazing husband Nick (who is so supportive and delightful, by the way), and their adorbale newest wee one, Bowie, last month when they were in Montreal, and I’m still in awe of her just a little bit (okay, a lot).
Tess was in town, of course, working on her clothing line, MBLM by Tess Holliday, at the Penningtons head office which in conveniently located in my city. She had just flown out of Montreal to NYC and back again in the same day in true boss babe fashion when we grabbed our late supper, which to be honest, was hella impressive because I don’t think I would have still been standing after a crazy day like that, let alone giving blogger fan girls like me the time of day! Alas, She was incredibly gracious and we ate, and chatted about our kids, our families, and of course her clothing line!
As it turns out, this busy beauty has been working really, REALLY hard on this, and honestly, it shows! Looking at the whole line, you can really see her in it… And I don’t just mean you can see her wearing all of it (which you totally can), but if you’ve been following Tess Holliday for any amount of time, you can see how she brought all of herself into this line truly making it her own. Tess never shies away from bold fashion choices and turning up the sex appeal, and thanks to her, now Penningtons customers, and plus size women, especially in Canada (although her line is available in the US as well), who are looking for affordable pieces that that are youthful, fashion forward, and sexy, can enjoy some long needed edgier options!
One of my favourite pieces (although it’s pretty hard to choose) was this little black dress— simple at first glance, but it’s all in the details! The 3/4 sleeves, tone on tone coated trim, and studs are super cute, and my favourite part is the the sexy thigh high slit! I love showing a little leg and this dress definitely does just that.
Patent leather oxfords, a gold choker, some dangly chain earring, and a totally chic “doggy bag” (so I can tote my pretty little chihuahua girl around in style with me like the shamefully obnoxious small dog owner that I’ve become), have just the right amount of glam and attitude to compliment the dress perfectly.
It’s the breath of fresh air we so very much needed on the Canadian market where the choices for young plus size women, especially when it comes to options that are available in brick and mortar establishments, remain somewhat limited.

I’m a bit of a fashion chameleon. I love changing things up and incorporating elements of all the styles I love into my wardrobe. Sometimes the clothes I wear may have a bit of a gothic flair, other times they may be ultra modern or classic and timeless, but one thing is for sure, I always make sure to find a way to make it my own.
I’ve never been the kind of person to look at an article of clothing and say, I love it, but I could never wear it (except for leather pants, but not that I haven’t tried). I think this is how I’ve ended up with such a unique style, because when you never say no to trying a new piece you truly adore, what starts out as a mishmash of a personal style, quickly evolves into having a veritable personality of its own!
One of the styles I draw major inspo from, yet oddly enough, rarely utilize in actuality is pinup style. Like, I’m actually obsessed with it, believe it or not, but for some reason I have always found it a wee bit intimidating because there are so many beautiful babes out there already knocking it out of the park when it comes to 50s fashion.
I had been thinking a lot about working more retro inspired styles into my wardrobe lately, so when Voodoo Vixen happened contact me and offer me one of their gorgeous pinup style dresses, I jumped on this one like, well, myself on cake! It was like they’d been reading my mind!
The floral print is just so bright and cheerful, and I love the fact that there’s a little bit of grey incorporated into the mix. The details on it, like the fabric covered buttons and the pleats at the bust give it an authentic feel, and I honestly couldn’t help but twirl in it because I just felt so pretty!
Of course, I wanted to add my own personal touch to my look, so without overpowering the total retro fabulousness of it, I decided to go with some trendy accessories to be sure to achieve the right melange of styles. A pair of silver strappy flats from Aldo, and some colourful midi rings were the perfect accompaniment to compliment the dress while staying true to my eclectic aesthetic.
In case anyone was wondering, the bright orange umbrella just coincidentally happened (I swear) to match my outfit, but I actually think it made my look even more fun if that’s possible. It had been raining that day and there was still a fine mist in the air when I stepped out to shoot, but for pretty much the first time in my life I was actually prepared and had an umbrella stashed away in the trunk of my car for quite literally, a rainy day.
Like they always say though, everything happens for a reason. Some coincidences were just meant to be and that’s exactly how I feel about my style— born of a lifetime of beautiful coincidences, and I’m certain it will continue to evolve.

As most of you know, I’m a Montreal girl, born and raised! I love my city, especially its rich history and diversity—a veritable melting pot of culture and language, and just an amazing place to call home!
The plus size community here however, has faced many obstacles. We are a group of people desperately in need of the unity it takes to raise each other up and support one another, so when I was asked to join the first annual Montreal + Fashion Week team as the official blogger I was, how you say, f*cking exciteddddd!!!
Led by the fabulous Emily Roy of the blog Entre Montréal et New York, and Nadine Moore of the plus size boutique Catapulp, and moi of course, Montreal + Fashion Week will be a celebration of plus size fashion, beauty, life and style, right here in my own beautiful city from May 20th-22nd.
I’ve been helping out behind the scenes, and was lucky enough to attend all three model castings, first in Quebec City, then Toronto, and finally wrapping up right here in Montreal. It was such a blast to see all those beautiful babes show us how it’s done!
With all that running around, I didn’t get a chance to do a post about what I wore, but luckily I managed to shoot my favourite look of the bunch this week!
This fly AF quilted gold number from Your Big Sister’s Closet was what I wore to the Quebec City casting.
Especially when accessorized with a little LV, some baubles from Aldo, and my chic Coach flats!
I hope to see all of you at Montreal + Fashion week! I’m really looking forward to meeting and mingling with my followers and plus size fashionistas, so be sure to get your tickets (here) before they’re gone, and come see me this May!!!
Be sure to stay tuned all this week and next, as I will be bringing you more info, special announcements and discussions about the event, as well as tips for making the most of your visit to Montreal if you’re coming from out of town!
In the meantime, don’t forget to use the #MTLplusFWstyle hashtag on social media for a chance to be featured on @montreal.plus.fashion.week’s Instagram!

When I was away in Haiti last August, I managed to sneak in one one photo shoot. I never published the pictures, but there’s a reason why…
Everything was perfect—my Monif C. fringed swimsuit, my ASOS sandals, and of course, my Ready To Stare body harness…
But the beach was exquisite, as was my beautiful fat bod in that suit, and honestly, even though I wore it wrong, the chain body harness actually looked pretty amazing this way too!
So, I decided to shoot some fab pics back home in Canada, wearing it the right way this time (Duh!) with a fab Kiyonna dress from SexyPlus Clothing, to show everyone that you can definitely have some fun playing around with body chains! We’ll just keep the fact that this was a totally unintentional discovery between us, though… K?
We can also keep the fact that it took me nearly six months to get around to shooting the second half of this post… Because procrastination is also my thing…
But it all actually worked out, because the contrast between my natural, freckled skin under the golden Haitian sun, and my ultra glam look, set against the backdrop of an icy frozen lake, is truly quite amazing!
And the discovery that this body chain is much more versatile than I had ever expected was a definite bonus!
Sure, I wish I was on a beach in Haiti again right now, after sifting through my vacation photos… But at least I know I have my body chain to add some pizazz to my swimsuits on my next trip, and until then, it can look just as awesome in the snow!

It’s not everyday you get to dress like Madonna—I mean, for me it isn’t anyway, (although I suppose I could if I really wanted to) but I’m always looking for an excuse!
Imagine my glee upon finding out that the fabulous Beth Ditto, singer, plus size model, and lover of all things vintage, was launching a collection this February; and as a little “aperçu,” had teamed up with none other than Jean Paul Gaultier on a limited edition, collaboration t-shirt dress, featuring his iconic cone-bra bustier, worn by thee original Material Girl herself in the 90s, and whose image is etched permanently in the brains millenials everywhere!
I had to splurge!!! I HAD have one!!!
Not even the most bitterly cold temperatures and blisteringly frigid winds could stop me from showing it off and striking a pose today!
I paired it with some awesome striped tights from Addition Elle, and my vintage Burberry trench…
But this tee is definitely the main attraction…
A little gold bling, and my black patent flatforms sealed this whole look with a sassy little kiss of perfection…
And all I can say is, Vogue.

Welp… It is officially 2016—time to start facing those resolutions and to start it off on the right foot!
But if you’re like me, at least for now, I’ve put the thought of resolutions aside, and decided that this year would be about maintenance.
I’m not saying I won’t strive to be better… I’m just saying that I’m pretty damn happy with my achievements last year, and I hope to keep those accomplishments coming, and keep pushing forward as I have been.
Happy New Year, once again, to you, yours, and everyone in between!!!

I’m all about staying cute and cozy during the holidays. With the snow on the ground, the icicles adorning the rooftops… Err… I mean, the mucky grass, unseasonably warm temperatures, no snow whatsoever, and with an inevitable green Christmas just around the corner, looking cute and staying just cozy enough has challenged our usual wintertime outerwear conceptions.
If there’s one thing I know, it’s that the folks over at Point Zero have always known how to do winter! But this year, their Point Zero Curvy collection is remarkably suited for our record breakingly warm December, letting us know that they were definitely at the top of their game in predicting that this winter, cozy layers would be exactly what Mother Nature ordered!
this is the ideal look for sipping hot apple cider, mulled wine, or hot cocoa (with marshmallows AND extra whipped cream, of course), and getting together with friends and family from near and far, to nibble on gingerbread, and enjoy the merriment of the season.
And for any last minute Christmas shopping (because that’s how I roll), or for hitting those amazing Boxing Day sales, this PZ Curvy, faux-fur trimmed poncho is luxurious perfection!
Paired with their faux-leather trimmed leggings, and stunning black tee with sheer detail, this truly is the most gorgeous, and most importantly, comfortable outfit, that is suitable not only for hitting the shops, but for any other casual holiday get together, where a little touch of glam is called for!
As always, it is such a pleasure supporting Canadian brands, like Point Zero Curvy! With quality pieces like these in my closet, I know that this winter, I’m well covered, both literally and figuratively!

I suppose I owe everyone a bit of an explanation as to why I seemed to have all but disappeared from the blogging world for about two months… It wasn’t intentional — I haven’t been on vacation (unfortunately), nor have I been lacking amazing content to bring to you lovelies…
Not long after my birthday, at the beginning of November, my husband became very ill and was hospitalized. We weren’t sure if he was going to make it or not. It was one of the biggest scares I’ve ever had, and it really put life into perspective for me.
Before you start worrying, everything is fine — he has made a full recovery, thank God! His illness was brief, but severe, and thankfully he was soon back home in my arms, where he belonged!
Understandably, this was a very stressful event in my life, and I have found it difficult, until now, to even try to wrap my mind around blogging, but throughout it all, I kept feeling this guilt over staying away from my amazing followers, so much so, that it made me avoid anything blog related, because it reminded me too much of how I missed it!!!
I’m thrilled to say that I’m back, and I’m ready to show off a fabulous look that I shot way back in November, which was originally supposed to be featured in that month’s French Curves post. For obvious reasons, it never saw the light of day, but I thought it a shame to waste the shots and not share!
This is, hands down, thee most amazing fleece cape/poncho/shawl (which is how I will be referring to it, since I’m not really sure which word describes it best), and would you believe, it was purchased from Costco!? Freaking COSTCO!!!
Who knew a boxed cape/poncho/shawl from Costco, (and when I say boxed, I’m talking a men’s-underwear-mega-value-8-pack style box) could have the potential to be so chic!?
I paired it with my fave jorts from Penningtons, which I’ve fall/winterized by wearing over a great pair of printed tights from Addition Elle. I love how the wild and sexy leopard print plays against the super classic houndstooth print, and they look so cute with my wooly, Penningtons booties!
Underneath, I wore an an oldie but a goodie, my military inspired, high neck top from Great Glam, which I’ve had for years, and continue to adore!
Last but surely not least, let’s talk about my favourite new accessory — these totally gorge leather & faux-fur mittens, from Little Burgundy!!! I can’t even with these mitts! They’re so fab!!!
This is the absolute perfect outfit for the unusually mild fall/winter we’ve been having here in Montreal, and it has provided me with one of the two very valuable life lessons I’ve learned over the past couple of months:
#1, Life is fragile, so remember to tell the ones you love just how much they mean to you, because at any moment without warning, you could find yourself in danger of losing them; and #2, never turn your nose up at boxed Costco clothing, it may very well end up being the chicest thing in your closet one day!

I recently had the privilege of collaborating with Society+ (formerly Cool Gal Blue) to bring you the Flight Of The Fat Girl Fall Haul!!!
This is my very first blogger collection, and I could I not be more thrilled to be working with the amazing babes over at Society+!!!
I think these pieces reflect my own personal style so perfectly, and the thought of seeing them on you lovelies is overwhelmingly squee-worthy for me! (No, like really! Pleeeeeease tag me in pics if you buy my pieces, because I need to see you!!!)
As you’ve come to expect from me, I like to be bold, take risks with my style, and a few leaves hitting the ground never stops me from rocking a short hemline!
This super chic, long sleeve T-shirt dress (which could also make a fab top, thrown over a great pair of leggings) is sooo me!!!
It’s simple, and great for layering, like I’ve done with this gorgeous, hooded, longline vest!

It’s that time of year again! When any profession, character, and/or animal suddenly gains magical erotic powers and becomes instantly sexy!
Yup! Halloween! And ever since I humiliated my kids, dressed as Fat Miley Cyrus a couple of years ago, I’ve made it my mission to dress up and make them cringe until a sexy granny costume won’t even be necessary, because I’ll be one anyway!
This year’s costume is far less cringe-worthy, I must admit! In fact, my five-year-old son basically thinks I’m the coolest, and my fifteen-year-old… Well, I humiliate him on a daily basis, so he’s not a very good example…
Complete with fingerless gloves, and a faux-walkie-talkie, my Sexy SWAT costume from SexyPlus Clothing is so realistic, you’d never even know it wasn’t an actual SWAT team uniform, especially since we all know, there’s a minimum fishnet requirement on all special task force uniforms in real life. (I’m being facetious by the way, in case you were wondering.)
It had me feeling my inner Colin Farrell (which, when read out loud, is a few words short [or too many] of being a little too sexy, if you know what I’m saying)…
