It’s been a fun couple of weeks over on The Penningtons Blog!
In one post, I got to take their 5-way bra for a spin and see how it worked with five different outfits to suit each way.
And then in my latest post, I got to style one piece, three ways — perfect for when you’re packing light on vacation!
Wedding season is in full swing. Every weekend I see a blissful newlywed couple posing for their wedding photos along the water not far from where I Iive.
With, at the very least, a wedding or two to attend each summer, we inevitably scope out the dress scene!
Of course, it’s all about the blushing bride’s dress — obvi; and the handsome groom too… But I still like to make a statement. After all, you’re bound to bump into at least one ex, or common girlfriend who talked behind your back that one time, and whom you absolutely can’t stand, and now you need to look extra hot in front of — err… Maybe that’s just me…? *nervous laugh*
But anyway, there’s no harm in bringing your A game to a wedding, because let’s face it… At some point during the evening, at least some eyes will be on you!
Searching for the perfect dress can seem a daunting task, but that’s why I love Canadian owned (and internationally shipping) SexyPlus Clothing!
The owner (and absolute dollface), Stefanie (a plus size woman herself) has curated a wonderful collection of dresses in all styles to suit your wedding season (or any season) needs, so you don’t have to search. She just gets it.
This gorgeous and luxurious little black & white number is actually a convertible dress that can also be worn strapless. I must admit though, my favourite of the two is this classic halter style.
I paired it with a cute head scarf, cork wedges, and a vintage metallic mesh clutch that I thrifted (kachiiiiing) earlier this summer!
It’s chic, old world sexy, and perfect for a wedding, or any occasion!
So definitely take a peek at the selection over at SexyPlus! There are so many gorgeous dresses! Whether your style is elegant, or super sassy, you’ll be sure to find something that’s just perfect for you!

It was one of those moments… In New York City, the hustle and bustle of folks rushing past, each with their own stories — their own places to be.
But in this instant, this was my place. I had nowhere to go, I was already there, and all I wanted was to bask in my moment.
It’s an interesting thing, walking through the streets of Manhattan in a bright pink tutu.
Mostly though, people just walked briskly past, giving a quick glance, and returning to their fixed-eyed, onward-bound stares as they continued to where they had to go.
But for me… Time stood still. The yellow cabs whizzed by, cars honked and pedestrians whirred about, each, undoubtedly with somewhere very important to be… It was all just a blur — a dazzling kaleidoscope of colours and light.
My playful and whimsical accessories, a bag that my mum picked up for me as a donation to The Humane Society of Canada, a gorgeous gold hoop necklace from Fashion To Figure, and my adorable alphabet bracelet from Ready To Stare, creating the perfect balance between fairy princess and Times Square funk…
I was a little awestricken and overcome with the untold stories around me… But amidst all that commotion, as the humid breeze blew through the tulle of my skirt, I knew that mine, was only beginning.
P.S. I’m basically fat Carrie Bradshaw now.

Or rather… On them… Or around them… Or something… Okay, so I just really wanted to use the term “party in my pants.” Deal with it!!!
But there’s a reason I’ve got pants parties on the brain! Until recently, I had never heard of hosting a Facebook leggins party… But OMG! It’s a thing!!!
Like… Seriously, how fun!? Plus, as the host, you get a discount on the great selection of Buskins products (available in regular and plus sizes) as long as somebody buys, and if 15 pairs are ordered, you even get a pair free!
Now, on average, I wear from a 22-24, depending on cut/fabric, and I will admit, I was a little hesitant about the one size fits most, “Pluskins” sizing, but I was pleasantly surprised.
They’re super soft (no, like, REALLY soft) and the “Atari Fever” pattern I chose is amazing!!! Very retro-video-game-chic, and totally speaks to my inner geek!!!
I will state that they JUST fit, though. I don’t think I could have packed any more of my bootyliciousness into them, but I’m a tall girl, and given that the plus collection is said to fit sizes 16-22 (inbetweenies might be better off looking in the direction of the staight sizing) I think the fit was pretty respectable. They didn’t even go see through over my butt!!!
I paired them with a simple, charcoal grey tank, a fab sweatsuit material coat from Addition Elle, along with the sweetest little polka dot flats from Walmart; and I toted my phone in a fancy Chanel inspired case that I snatched up from an Instagram shop a while back (yeah yeah, I know it’s fake), as well as Louis, of course, whom I take almost everywhere (he’s as real as they come).
I really enjoyed wearing my Buskins leggins. They’re cute, comfy, and whether you’re purchasing a pair just for you, hosting a Facebook party, or making a group purchase to save on shipping, I’m sure you’ll love the very reasonably priced selection!

Now… Can we please just have a moment of silence for my fabulous pastel lilac hair that is no more… (This may have to happen again soon!)
And how amazing are my lashes looking in this Younique Moodstruck 3D Fibre Lashes Mascara!? I’m in love!!!

Parlez-vous français ?
Once again, it’s time for my contribution to the French Curves Challenge – an outfit photo challenge with the french touch, taking place each 16th of the month, and founded by the fabulous and inspirational, Vanoue of The Curvy and Curly Closet.
The theme this month!? Crop top!!! And don’t worry, I wouldn’t do all my Anglo readers like that! An English message will follow!

I told you I wouldn’t leave you hanging! Here’s the translation:
I wore my first crop top in my entire adult life just a little over a year ago. It was an intimidating thought for me, I’m not going to lie…
I’ve had four children, one of whom was delivered by C-section. My stomach is covered in stretch marks, and it’s the part of my body that I’ve had the hardware accepting for as long as I can remember.
But I challenged myself that day, and I fell in love with my stomach including its flaws! I’ve never looked back, and crop tops now play a reoccurring role in my wardrobe!
One of my favourites is this delicate blush coloured crop top from ZELIE FOR SHE, that I wore for the first time with the matching tutu and a pleurer jacket, for a princess-meets-biker look. It has truly proven to be one of the most versatile pieces in my closet.
I’ve paired it with this great navy blue pencil midi and construction orange blazer from ELOQUII.
I’ve accessorized with my beautiful Ted Baker Moti clutch, and the most stunning shoes in my life right now – these totally gorge, seafoam green, block heel, bejewelled pumps from ASOS.
In the 90s, One bearing ones tummy was all the rage, never in a million years, would I have imagined that wearing a crop top would feel so empowering for me, but it truly does. Even when I’m not showing any skin, they make me feel flirty, rebellious, super sexy, and most of all, they allowed me to embrace a part of myself that I used to detest, and to show the world that my tummy is nothing to be ashamed about, but rather a symbol of the strength it has taken me to overcome my insecurities, and a reminder of the four beautiful people that I brought into this world!
A huge thank you to my amazing husband, who made his debut as a photographer with these fab shots!!! Love you!!!

So… It’s finally warming up around here… Slowly but surely the sun has started shining, the streets are trickling with melted run off, the war with my children against going outside in just a T-shirt has resumed, and the birds are at last, singing their happy springtime song after a winter that was cold enough to freeze the balls of a brass monkey!!!
Of course along with spring, comes the entire nation, all melting at once, allowing every piece of rubbish, every dead animal, and every dog poop that has accumulated all winter, to thaw in unison, resulting in, let’s be honest, one hell of a stinky cocktail!
There’s also, still quite a thick covering of snow on the ground, and sure… You get hit with a face-full every now and again, as it blows off a rooftop… No seriously, here I am, actually getting blasted with a gust of drifting snow.
But it’s all good, because I just look that cute in my jeggings, combat boots, and my Love & Legend, NOIR sweatshirt from Addition Elle!!!
I’m SO looking forward to seeing grass on the ground, leaves on the trees, and to getting hit in the face with the sweet smell of lilacs rather than snow, but for now, I’m not complaining…
Because at least it’s not -1,000,000º anymore, and I can actually be adorable in the snow, like… I romped… ROMPED, damnit! Just like they do it in the movies, and without the cold freezer-burning my face off!!! Hashtag awesomesauce.

It’s the last day of spring break here in Montreal (even though, technically it’s not spring yet and still looks and feels like the dead of winter) and I am SO over all this snow… Like… O.V.E.R. I.T.
But, since there’s not much else I can do (besides complain, and curse the part of the world in which I live) I’m doing the next best thing… Going into complete denial. Ha!!!
In my mind, at least for today, spring is sprung, the grass is riz… And the birdies… The birdies, you ask…? I’m pretty sure they’ve mostly all frozen to death, but, there are probably still a few out there… Somewhere.
So here I is – bare-legged and feeling fierce, decked out in the most amazing floral shift dress from ASOS CURVE!
I’ve paired it with some pretty pearl studs going all the way up my ears, and a simple, nude, beaded necklace from Walmart, for an edgy, granny chic look, which, let’s be honest, is perfectly topped off by my pastel purple hair!
And who cares that I completely destroyed my favorite flats!? (Actually I do… Why did I wear these in the snow? Gahhh!!!)
