I’m all about staying cute and cozy during the holidays. With the snow on the ground, the icicles adorning the rooftops… Err… I mean, the mucky grass, unseasonably warm temperatures, no snow whatsoever, and with an inevitable green Christmas just around the corner, looking cute and staying just cozy enough has challenged our usual wintertime outerwear conceptions.
If there’s one thing I know, it’s that the folks over at Point Zero have always known how to do winter! But this year, their Point Zero Curvy collection is remarkably suited for our record breakingly warm December, letting us know that they were definitely at the top of their game in predicting that this winter, cozy layers would be exactly what Mother Nature ordered!
this is the ideal look for sipping hot apple cider, mulled wine, or hot cocoa (with marshmallows AND extra whipped cream, of course), and getting together with friends and family from near and far, to nibble on gingerbread, and enjoy the merriment of the season.
And for any last minute Christmas shopping (because that’s how I roll), or for hitting those amazing Boxing Day sales, this PZ Curvy, faux-fur trimmed poncho is luxurious perfection!
Paired with their faux-leather trimmed leggings, and stunning black tee with sheer detail, this truly is the most gorgeous, and most importantly, comfortable outfit, that is suitable not only for hitting the shops, but for any other casual holiday get together, where a little touch of glam is called for!
As always, it is such a pleasure supporting Canadian brands, like Point Zero Curvy! With quality pieces like these in my closet, I know that this winter, I’m well covered, both literally and figuratively!

I suppose I owe everyone a bit of an explanation as to why I seemed to have all but disappeared from the blogging world for about two months… It wasn’t intentional — I haven’t been on vacation (unfortunately), nor have I been lacking amazing content to bring to you lovelies…
Not long after my birthday, at the beginning of November, my husband became very ill and was hospitalized. We weren’t sure if he was going to make it or not. It was one of the biggest scares I’ve ever had, and it really put life into perspective for me.
Before you start worrying, everything is fine — he has made a full recovery, thank God! His illness was brief, but severe, and thankfully he was soon back home in my arms, where he belonged!
Understandably, this was a very stressful event in my life, and I have found it difficult, until now, to even try to wrap my mind around blogging, but throughout it all, I kept feeling this guilt over staying away from my amazing followers, so much so, that it made me avoid anything blog related, because it reminded me too much of how I missed it!!!
I’m thrilled to say that I’m back, and I’m ready to show off a fabulous look that I shot way back in November, which was originally supposed to be featured in that month’s French Curves post. For obvious reasons, it never saw the light of day, but I thought it a shame to waste the shots and not share!
This is, hands down, thee most amazing fleece cape/poncho/shawl (which is how I will be referring to it, since I’m not really sure which word describes it best), and would you believe, it was purchased from Costco!? Freaking COSTCO!!!
Who knew a boxed cape/poncho/shawl from Costco, (and when I say boxed, I’m talking a men’s-underwear-mega-value-8-pack style box) could have the potential to be so chic!?
I paired it with my fave jorts from Penningtons, which I’ve fall/winterized by wearing over a great pair of printed tights from Addition Elle. I love how the wild and sexy leopard print plays against the super classic houndstooth print, and they look so cute with my wooly, Penningtons booties!
Underneath, I wore an an oldie but a goodie, my military inspired, high neck top from Great Glam, which I’ve had for years, and continue to adore!
Last but surely not least, let’s talk about my favourite new accessory — these totally gorge leather & faux-fur mittens, from Little Burgundy!!! I can’t even with these mitts! They’re so fab!!!
This is the absolute perfect outfit for the unusually mild fall/winter we’ve been having here in Montreal, and it has provided me with one of the two very valuable life lessons I’ve learned over the past couple of months:
#1, Life is fragile, so remember to tell the ones you love just how much they mean to you, because at any moment without warning, you could find yourself in danger of losing them; and #2, never turn your nose up at boxed Costco clothing, it may very well end up being the chicest thing in your closet one day!

Fall is undeniably upon us… And with yesterday’s dusting of snow here in Montreal, one could argue that winter is already poking its head out from around the corner — but Jesus fix it! I’m not ready!!!
So to celebrate all those things I love about fall while it’s still here, the changing colours, cool crisp air, (and duhhh) the sweaters (!!!) I teamed up with Addition Elle, Penningtons, and super babe, Joëlle Vaillancourt, who some of you may know from the show Le Cahier (The Booklet) on MAtv, and we picked out our three fave fall trends!
But that’s not all!!! All the falling leaves have gotten us feeling curious, and a little generous too!
So, we’d like to know YOUR fave fall trend, and if you head over to Instagram to vote, you could be eligible* to win our #CurvyFatGiveaway of a fab fall shopping spree of $150 from Addition Elle and $100 from Penningtons!
#1 is not only a fall fave of ours, but it is also 2015’s Pantone colour of the year — Marsala!
#2 is evvverywhere right now — Suede! And it is without question, a big part of every fashionistas fall wardrobe this year, and we love it too!!!
Wear it as the perfect base to an all black, date night look, like I’ve done with these gorgeous faux-suede leggings from Penningtons, for a luxurious, richly textured look that will be sure to add depth to any outfit…
Or as a standout piece, like Joëlle has done with this amazing faux-suede, camel coloured skirt from Addition Elle, for a striking look, rich texture and quirky elegance…
No matter how you wear it, suede definitely brings a lot to the table, and we’re hoping this trend will stick around well though spring so we can continue to have fun with it!
#3 is last but not least, and probably my fave of all — 70s! This trend is reappearing once more, but this time with a very sophisticated elegance about it!
You can rock an empowering androgynous 70s look, like I’ve done with these amazing plaid pants, and printed blouse with elongated cuffs from Penningtons, paired with a long, sleek necklace, and a fantastic faux-fur collared wool trench from Addition Elle, for a look that’s a combination of Eric Foreman and Donna Pinciotti all in one! (If you don’t get that reference, we can’t be friends — just kidding, but it’s on Netflix so go watch… Now!)
You can also do 70s glam, like Joëlle, and rock a great pair of wide leg jeans, like these ones from Penningtons, with a sexy, bell-sleeved top, like this lace crop, and beaded crocheted choker from Addition Elle. Bring on those disco nights!!!
As you can see, the 70s may be a bygone era, but they’re still alive and well in fashion this fall!!!
So, which will it be? Be sure to head over to Instagram to vote on your fave once a day, and follow all the entry rules* for a chance to win a fab fall shopping spree, courtesy of Joëlle, moi, and our amazing sponsors, Addition Elle and Penningtons!
The winning look, and of course, the winner of the giveaway will be announced on October 30th, so keep an eye out!!!

Every year I get really excited about fall fashion — the layering, the boots, the rich, deep colours, and did I mention the layering?
Navy blue will forever be one of my favourite fall shades. It offers all the benefits of wearing black (and no, I’m not talking “flattering,” I’m talking versatility), while actually bringing a little colour to the table.
This navy wrap dress from Stylzoo is total perfection! It hugs my curves beautifully, and I’m seriously feeling the sexy V neckline!
I decided to be bold and pick up on the tones in the lining of my boots, and accessorize with my emerald green Kate Spade Clutch, silver and pastel blue earrings, and my most daring lippie yet, a deep teal/green shade called Dr. M, from ColourPop Cosmetics!
I love how refreshing the mix of classic and edgier elements turned out to be!
Armed with great pieces like my Stylzoo wrap dress, and adventurous lipstick shades like this one, I am definitely fall fashion ready!

As we transition from fall to winter here in Montreal, outerwear is essential; and since most people tend to keep their outerwear through several winters, the best way to change up your look and refresh your cold-weather gear is to have fun with scarves!
I have here, a fab selection of gorgeous eternity scarves from indie designer, New Flair Accessories! I’ve used them to breathe new life into my old coat and jacket selection, and add some affordable excitement & style to my winter wardrobe this season!
Each scarf is handmade with love, out of a fantastic variety of luxe fabrics. From sheer to polar fleece, you can be sure to find the right scarf to fit your look, whether you’re style is super traditional, or more on the edgy side of the spectrum.
The first scarf is a made of a really soft jersey. I love its neutral animal print, and the way it accentuates the silver and black ensemble I’ve paired it with.
This next one is another jersey scarf, with thee most fabulous butterfly print!!! I love how bright and cheerful it is – like a little reminder that summer will be here again one day; and how perfectly it works with my royal blue wool coat!
Now, when I mentioned the transition from fall to winter, I meant it! The holiday season is upon us, so a stunning, long length infinity scarf is the perfect way to keep warm! (And a great accessory to showcase my new haircut in!!!)
And last, but certainly not least – in fact, probably my favorite scarf of the bunch, this amazing, jade green jersey scarf, lined with ribbed black velour – the perfect holiday scarf to spruce up any outfit or coat, with just a hint of sparkle.
Capes are a super hot trend this fall, and it’s not hard to see why. They’re comfortable, easy to wear, and come on! They’re capes (!!!), pretty much the coolest articles of clothing any human being can own!!!
I picked up this fabulous geo print cape from Zelie For She over the summer, and I’ve been saving it for the perfect autumn weather like we had over the weekend here in Montreal!
Since it’s a cotton cape, it works equally well over a cami, in lieu of a blazer in warmer weather; but my favorite way to wear it is over a cozy, long sleeved top, like this alligator textured sweater, when it is slightly cooler out.
Paired with some light blue jeggings, black patent pumps for a touch of glam, a stunning, handcrafted African cuff bracelet by La Caverne De Djénéba, and a great pair of sunnies from Forever 21, my cape looked fab and caught the attention of everyone in sight!
It’s officially thanksgiving weekend and I’ve been trying to get this post out all week, I swear!!!
First, the day I was supposed to do my shoot, my bestie gave birth to a beautiful baby boy (Yay!!!) annnd then I dropped my phone in the bathtub while attempting to shave my legs and binge watch Vampire Diaries at the same time (Damn you, Damon!!!). So, just add those to my list of excuses for why I don’t get posts out on time… *sigh*
Aaaaanyway, I’m super excited to finally show off this fabulous, pixelated plaid, bodycon from Toronto based, Voluptuous Clothing!!! I first saw it, worn to perfection by the stunning Fluvia Lacerda, and featured on the cover of the Fall Fashion issue of DARE Mag and fell in love! It’s the absolute perfect autumn dress, with a classic, curve hugging silhouette and this fall’s hot plaid trend, which I just can’t get enough of!
I’ve paired it with these incredibly cool, wide calf, thigh high boots from SexyPlus Clothing (Yasss!!!), another Canadian owned business (Whoop whoop!!!) and this stunning leather and bronze, handcrafted, African statement necklace, by Montreal Jewelry Designer, Djénéba Daou, for a chic fall look that works for anything from work, to turkey dinner with the fam!!!
