So, this past December, I had already decided upon my new year’s resolution – to stop being afraid of wearing color. I kicked the year off, a little in advance, by wearing a fabulous dress from Monif C. which I featured in a blog post – Color Me Fearless. Soon after, I realized that my photos didn’t show this dress off as well as it deserved, so I wrote another post – Extra Credit, and I showed off just how sublime the print of this dress truly is and promised to take better pictures in the dress- pictures worthy of its greatness.
So here you go, once more… As promised – the most mesmerizing print I’ve ever seen, let alone worn, the most beautiful dress and the most flawless combination of class and vibrant color. I just had to makes sure this dress got the credit it deserved, and not to mention, give credit to the amazing and talented Monif Clarke, of Monif C. for her fantastic designs!!!
Nautical themed clothing has been around for ages, and we all know the stereotype of the miserable, long faced kid, who’s been forced into a sailor suit (even though he is much too old for it) by his overbearing mum (often wearing a matching outfit) for a family portrait… Right?
Well… This look, while having a sporty, nautical vibe, is far from being the sailor suit in an awkward family photo. The striking navy and red color block “Marcie” dress from Monif C. is sporty yet sophisticated. I’ve paired it with lovely, white patent leather flats from Aldo, and gold jewelry to really anchor this look’s feel without going overboard.
Having at least one fantastic nautical look in your wardrobe is a great way to ensure that your transition into spring will be smooth sailing!
Well… Could it get any better? Valentine’s Day on a Friday night!!! Whether you’re spending the evening by your sweetheart’s side or going to a fabulous V-Day singles party, you need the perfect dress!
Traditionally, red is the go-to color to celebrate love and romance; it’s sultry and seductive and definitely gets the point across; but classic black will never go out of style and is always a sexy option too. That’s why I’ve decided to go with my favorite little black dress (or LBD for those of you who love your acronyms) to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.
This gorgeous frock from Michel Antoni Collection is both sexy and elegant all at once. Its tasteful cut combined with the pizzazz of sequins and cold shoulder detail spice things up just enough make it the perfect mix of class and provocativeness. In this dress, paired with my favorite gold pumps, I’m all set to enjoy a fantastic evening reminding my hubby why he fell in love with me!
Once again, as I mentioned in my earlier post, Happy Valentine’s Day to all! And one more thing… Whether you’re in love, whether you’re single or your heart has been broken, somebody loves you and you are never alone.
This weekend I did something crazy. I went out wearing pastel peach chiffon in the middle of winter and there was nothing anyone could do about it!
Gone are the days of limiting winter wardrobes to dark, drab colors; and while I’m all for the perfect little black dress anytime, I love to bring something unexpected to the party.
This exquisite, tiered dress from Laura Plus did just that, and it did it with class. A sexy silver heel from Aldo, Swarovski crystal encrusted accessories, side-swept hair and soft, classic makeup gave the look an old world Hollywood feel – glamorous and elegant.
I felt like Marilyn Monroe (with bigger hips) and I could feel everyone’s eyes on me as I walked by. In the past I would have shied away from being noticed; but now I am confident enough to realize that they were looking because I was someone worth seeing, someone they thought was beautiful.
I left the party, heels dangling from my finger tips, feeling as peachy as my dress and with a warm, fuzzy feeling that I won’t soon forget.
