As most of you know, I’m a Montreal girl, born and raised! I love my city, especially its rich history and diversity—a veritable melting pot of culture and language, and just an amazing place to call home!
The plus size community here however, has faced many obstacles. We are a group of people desperately in need of the unity it takes to raise each other up and support one another, so when I was asked to join the first annual Montreal + Fashion Week team as the official blogger I was, how you say, f*cking exciteddddd!!!
Led by the fabulous Emily Roy of the blog Entre Montréal et New York, and Nadine Moore of the plus size boutique Catapulp, and moi of course, Montreal + Fashion Week will be a celebration of plus size fashion, beauty, life and style, right here in my own beautiful city from May 20th-22nd.
I’ve been helping out behind the scenes, and was lucky enough to attend all three model castings, first in Quebec City, then Toronto, and finally wrapping up right here in Montreal. It was such a blast to see all those beautiful babes show us how it’s done!
With all that running around, I didn’t get a chance to do a post about what I wore, but luckily I managed to shoot my favourite look of the bunch this week!
This fly AF quilted gold number from Your Big Sister’s Closet was what I wore to the Quebec City casting.
Especially when accessorized with a little LV, some baubles from Aldo, and my chic Coach flats!
I hope to see all of you at Montreal + Fashion week! I’m really looking forward to meeting and mingling with my followers and plus size fashionistas, so be sure to get your tickets (here) before they’re gone, and come see me this May!!!
Be sure to stay tuned all this week and next, as I will be bringing you more info, special announcements and discussions about the event, as well as tips for making the most of your visit to Montreal if you’re coming from out of town!
In the meantime, don’t forget to use the #MTLplusFWstyle hashtag on social media for a chance to be featured on @montreal.plus.fashion.week’s Instagram!

By now, most of you know that the 16th (errr… 21st?) of every month means it’s time for the French Curves Challenge – an outfit photo challenge with the French touch, created by the fabulous, Vanoue, of The Curvy and Curly Closet!
The theme this month: BOYISH!!!
As always, an English translation will follow, so if French isn’t your forte, just scroll on down!
I love the androgynous look. I love how it messes with people’s preconceived notions and blurs the lines of gender. So this month’s “boyish” theme captivated me instantly!
I feel really sexy and strong when I wear masculine looking clothing.
However, I like to throw a few feminine touches into the mix too, just to mess with people!
So, for my boyish look, I chose my fave pair of overalls, from Addition Elle, a super cute alien head crop top from Chubby Cartwheels, with a great jean jacket with French terry sleeves from Penningtons.
For accessories, my pretty, pointy Coach loafers in a neutral colour, a very chic little clutch, and some gold bling.
I loved my look so much that it made me want to show off mah belly, for no other reason than the fact that I felt good in my skin in this outfit!
Be sure to check out the awesomely boyish looks of all the other French Curvettes here, as well as on Facebook, and Instagram too!!! Don’t forget to use the hashtags #FrenchCurvesOOTD and #FlightOfTheFatGirl!!!

We’re patiently… Err… Impatiently waiting for Spring to act like spring here in a Montreal. It snowed over Easter weekend, and again yesterday, but the sun has been coming out to play here and there, so there’s still hope, I hope…?
Over the course of the next couple of weeks I’ll be taking advantage of this long lost sunshine (when it chooses show itself) to bring you some refreshing Spring looks from SexyPlus Clothing, a Mississauga, Ontario based business, run by the fabulous Stefanie Auguteijn, who is just an absolute dollface!!!
And while springtime is all about sprouting flowers, baby bunnies & (awww, baby bunniiiiiiieees!!!) & such, here in the land of Easter snow, one of the surest signs of Spring is when we finally (ugh, and I mean fi-na-lyyy) ditch our winter coats in lieu of a cozy hoodie.
Like, I’m totally obsessed. I’ve been wearing it all week!!! A great hoodie is the most underrated piece that just about everyone owns, but rarely celebrates; but I’m telling y’all, there is just so much to be excited about as a plus size woman, wearing her body positivity on her sleeve (literally) and flaunting her sexy, self-confidence with pride!
I paired it with my fave Parasuco jeans, and since I was kinda feeling myself that day (ok, like a lot feeling myself), I decided to rock some serious bling!
How cute do my chain anklets from Ready to Stare look with my Coach, canvas slip ons?
So get into spring, loves! Whether it’s actually sprung in your corner of the world, or still a little confused, like in mine. This is the season to get your sexy on, and where better to start, than at SexyPlus!!!

I just have to say it – this outfit is all about the belt! I mean, is this gorgeous African designed belt from Rue 114 not everything???
Its large, striking buckle is not only beautifully designed but, is also in the shape of “Gye Nyame”, a Ghanian, Adinkra symbol meaning ‘Except God (I fear none)’ or according to the Rue 114 website, ‘Accept God.’ I would assume (although I’m no expert) that its meaning is up for interpretation, based on the two spellings I’ve seen used, but regardless, this belt’s message is as beautiful as its design.
I’ve layered the belt over a gorgeous Michel Studio blazer (Addition Elle) and delicate, printed Cynthia Rowley blouse to really showcase it the way it deserves. A simple pair of white Capri trousers, a fabulous nude, patent loafer and a bold, magenta tote from Kate Spade New York complete the ensemble, for a classic, chic look with both a symbolic and modern twist.
