So, if you follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, you probably already know… I have pastel purple hair now!!!
I’ve been feeling like a needed a change for some time now, and I’m not ready to cut everything off again just yet, so I figured some temporary colour was the way to go… And I’m in love with it!!!
Admittedly, it reminds me of a very confused style phase I went through from the late 90s to the early 2000s, which involved a slew of wild coloured hair dyes, dark brown lipstick, facial (and a few other more risqué) piercings, a few tattoos that I regret, and a whole lot of Matchbox Twenty, Missy Elliott, and… Sigh… Creed.
So, in honour of awkward times past, I decided to let my nostalgia take the lead on this one!
I paired one of my fave white blouses (an oldie, but a goodie) with some great black leggings with pleather insert detail, from Penningtons. Overtop, I layered one of my fave spring sale scores, this gorgeous chiffon skirt/belt thing (I honestly don’t know how else to describe it) from Addition Elle’s 2014 holiday collection.
I accessorized with some fun fake tattoo bracelets, put in all my earrings (which my Catholic high school’s administration were not pleased with back in the day), threw on my new Hautecore lippie from MAC, and finished it all off with my gorgeous shoes, from Shoes of Prey, for a delicate, classic touch.
I’m pretty sure I would have swooned at the sight of this outfit back in 2001…
And even though, back then, crazy hair colours were all about the neons, I would have been downright drooling over this pastel mauve, without a shadow of a doubt!

So, in a post from a while back, “The Undercut Cannot Be Undersold” I showed all of you my three-year-old son’s new haircut, and mentioned that my 13-year-old wanted the same cut too.
Well, he did it and I just can’t believe this young man with the trendy haircut, hint of a mustache and size 11 men’s feet was once my cuddly baby boy. Time sure flies.
Besides all of my nostalgic ramblings, I do have to say that I am completely sold on this dapper, sophisticated haircut even more so than I was in the past. I truly do believe that it has the potential to be flattering on any man with enough hair for it.
Now it’s time to convince my 7-year-old son to get this cut as well, and I will be a very happy mama!
So, according to a Huffington Post article I read this fall, the undercut is the haircut that all men should have; and after seeing the eye candy distributed throughout the article, I wholeheartedly agree.
That debonair, vintage, long on top, short on the bottom haircut was rebellious in the 90’s and is now a modern, 40’s inspired classic, and it has really gotten my attention; so much so, that I decided that it would be my youngest son’s first.
I can’t even. It’s so perfect. See for yourselves! Even my oldest son has decided this will be his next cut! (Pics to follow?)
